Bangkok, March 31, 2025 — KMUTT was honored to host a delegation from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL), United Kingdom, to explore future collaboration in academic programs and research in science and engineering.
The delegation from QMUL was led by Dr. Alex Clark, Dean for International (Science & Engineering) and Professor of Mathematics, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chinnapat Panwisawas, Director of the Materials Science and Engineering Programme. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Emeritus Professor Dr. Yongyuth Yuthavong, Chairman of the University Council at KMUTT, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Sae-Tia, President of KMUTT.
KMUTT representatives from the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Science presented overviews of their faculties and key research areas, followed by presentations from QMUL. This led into an open discussion to identify synergies for future cooperation. The purpose of the visit was to explore partnership opportunities, particularly in launching joint academic programs such as a 2+2 undergraduate dual degree and a 4+1 postgraduate (MSc) track. Both sides also expressed strong interest in fostering research collaboration.
The visit concluded with laboratory tours to the Department of Tool and Materials Engineering and the Department of Chemistry, where QMUL delegates were introduced to KMUTT’s research on drug delivery, cultured meat, and innovation materials.
This engagement marks a promising step toward deeper collaboration between the two institutions, paving the way for joint research initiatives and innovative academic programs that will benefit students and faculty alike.
