วันที่ 24 มิถุนายน 2569 ดร.แบ๊งค์ งามอรุณโชติ ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันนโยบายวิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรม (STIPI) มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี ได้เข้าร่วมพิธีลงนามแบบเสมือนจริง (Virtual Signing Ceremony) กับ Research Center for Economics of Industry, Services and Trade, The National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BRIN) เพื่อจัดทำหนังสือแสดงเจตจำนง (Letter of Intent) ว่าด้วยความร่วมมือทางวิชาการและการวิจัยระหว่างสองสถาบัน
การลงนามในครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือภายใต้ประเด็น “Cultural Capital and Local Growth: Building Regional Collaboration for Urban Transformation in Asia” หรือ “ทุนทางวัฒนธรรมและการเติบโตของท้องถิ่น: การสร้างความร่วมมือระดับภูมิภาคเพื่อการเปลี่ยนผ่านเมืองในเอเชีย” ภายใต้ความร่วมมือนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายจะร่วมกันผลักดันการดำเนินงานด้านการวิจัย การพัฒนาศักยภาพ การแลกเปลี่ยนนักวิจัย การเยี่ยมเยือนเชิงวิชาการ ตลอดจนการแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลและองค์ความรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์ในประเด็นที่มีความสนใจร่วมกัน
ความร่วมมือดังกล่าวถือเป็นก้าวสำคัญของ STIPI และหน่วยงานพันธมิตรจากสาธารณรัฐอินโดนีเซีย ในการขับเคลื่อนงานวิจัยข้ามประเทศ โดยเฉพาะการทำความเข้าใจบทบาทของทุนทางวัฒนธรรมต่อการเติบโตของท้องถิ่นและการเปลี่ยนผ่านของเมืองในภูมิภาคเอเชีย
ในระยะต่อไป ความร่วมมือจะให้ความสำคัญกับการวิจัย การแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ และการลงพื้นที่ศึกษา โดยมีพื้นที่นำร่องในประเทศไทยที่สถาบันฯ ร่วมดำเนินงาน อาทิ จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ลำปาง และยะลา รวมถึงพื้นที่ศึกษาในประเทศอินโดนีเซียในอนาคต
การลงนามครั้งนี้สะท้อนเจตนารมณ์ร่วมกันของทั้งสองสถาบันในการสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือระดับภูมิภาค เพื่อสนับสนุนการพัฒนาเมืองและท้องถิ่นบนฐานทุนทางวัฒนธรรม องค์ความรู้ และการเรียนรู้ร่วมกันระหว่างประเทศ

On 24 June 2026, Dr.Bank Ngamarunchot, Director of the Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Institute (STIPI), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, participated in a virtual signing ceremony with the Research Center for Economics of Industry, Services and Trade, The National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BRIN), to formalize a Letter of Intent (LOI) on academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.
The Letter of Intent aims to promote collaboration under the theme “Cultural Capital and Local Growth: Building Regional Collaboration for Urban Transformation in Asia.” Under this collaboration, both parties intend to strengthen cooperation in research and capacity building, including exchanges and visits among researchers, as well as the exchange of scientific information and knowledge in areas of common interest.
This partnership marks an important step for STIPI and an Indonesian counterpart in advancing cross-border research collaboration, particularly in exploring the role of cultural capital in local growth and urban transformation across Asia.
Moving forward, the collaboration will place emphasis on joint research, knowledge exchange, and field-based learning. In Thailand, potential pilot areas include provinces where Institute x has ongoing collaborative initiatives, such as Chiang Mai, Lampang, and Yala. Fieldwork and collaborative activities in Indonesia are also expected to be developed in the future.
The signing of this Letter of Intent reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to building a regional network of collaboration that supports urban and local development through cultural capital, evidence-based knowledge, and mutual learning across countries.
