KMUTT signed a contract with Twogene Company Limited to rent a building for the National Biopharmaceutical Production (NBF) prototype factory for the long-term microbial and cell culture platform production process.

KMUTT and Twogene Co., Ltd, a new Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) established by an international consortium of life science entrepreneurs focusing on cell and gene therapy and plasmid DNA, signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) on December 20, 2023 for a long term lease of National Biopharmaceutical Facility (NBF) for microbial and cell culture fermentation suites. This cooperation is aimed at enhancing the production of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) and promoting Thai life science capabilities for global application particularly in cell and gene therapy.

DR.SUVIT SAETIA Board Member signed a letter of intent to cooperate with Mr. Bertrand Coissac, Chief Executive Officer of Twogene Company Limited at Building LX. 15th floor, KMUTT, for the company to rent a building for the National Biopharmaceutical Production (NBF) prototype factory for the long-term microbial and cell culture platform production process, with ASST. PROF. DR. PRASERT KANTHAMANON Senior Vice President for Administrative Affairs, ASST.PROF.DR. SANSANALAK RACHDAWONG Director of the National Biological Medicine Pilot Plant, Assoc.Prof. BOOSYA BUNNAG ASST. PROF. Twogene Company Limited is a company established by foreign investors with experience in the life science business focusing on cell and gene therapy and plasmid DNA used in the modern biopharmaceutical industry. and intends to bring this production technology to production at NBF in the long term. This cooperation will lead to the development of the capability to produce Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) in Thailand for use in industry.
