The mission of the Conservation Ecology research unit is to achieve practical solutions to conservation problems through scientific research. The goal is to have our research used in Thailand and Southeast Asia to advise environmental policy-makers and to increase the capacity of the region’s researchers to study these problems and implement solutions.

พัฒนางานวิจัยด้านเทคโนโลยีครอบคลุมทั้งการสกัดสารสำคัญ การัฒนาคุณภาพผลิตภัณฑ์และวิธีวิเคราะห์สารจากน้ำมันรำข้าวและปาล์ม ผลักดันเทคโนโลยีสู่การใช้ประโยชน์ได้จริงในภาคอุตสาหกรรม พัฒนาสูตรหรือกรรมวิธีหรือสร้างผลิตภัณฑ์ต้นแบบพร้อมประยุกต์ใช้ร่วมกับหน่วยงานภายนอก โดยกลุ่มวิจัยมีความเชี่ยวชาญ ดังนี้

ได้รับการสนับสนุนโครงการหน่วยวิจัยคุณภาพสูง

ความเชี่ยวชาญ

สร้างองค์ความรู้และเทคโนโลยีที่จะช่วยขับเคลื่อนการปรับตัวของภาคการเกษตรของประเทศไทย จากการทำเกษตรกรรมแบบดั่งเดิมที่อาศัยทรัพยากรธรรมชาติเป็นหลัก ไปเป็นการเกษตรกรรมที่อยู่บนพื้นฐานความรู้ และข้อมูล ใช้ทรัพยากรอย่างคุ้มค่า สร้างผลผลิตที่แน่นนอน นำไปสู่การยกระดับความมั่นคงทางเศรษฐกิจของเกษตรกรไทยอย่างยั่งยืน โดยแนวทาง และยุทธศาสตร์ของการตั้งหน่วยวิจัยมีความสอดคล้องกับการเปลี่ยนผ่านประเทศสู่ การเกษตรกรรม 4.0 ตามแนวคิด BCG economy model โดยอาศัยความเชี่ยวชาญในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโอมิคทางชีววิทยา (omics) บูรณาข้อมูลร่วมกันระหว่างการทำงานภายในเซลล์สิ่งมีชีวิตและแบบจำลองทางคณิตศาสตร์ ให้ทราบความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างลักษณะทางพันธุกรรม ลักษณะที่ปรากฏภายนอก และลักษณะทางสรีรวิทยา

พัฒนาต้นแบบเทคโนโลยียานยนต์สมัยใหม่ เพื่อการพัฒนาต่อยอดในเชิงพาณิชย์ ได้แก่

พัฒนาโมเดลเพื่อ่ใช้ในการวางแผนเชิงนโยบาย ได้แก่
2.1 โมเดลในการวิเคราะห์และทำนายการระบายมลพิษทางอากาศจากมาตรการการใช้เชื้อเพลิงของยานยนต์ประเภทต่างๆ

Next Generation Electric Vehicle ซึ่งเน้นการวิจัยที่เกี่ยวเนื่องกับการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยียานยนต์ไฟฟ้า ระบบระบายความร้อน และแบตเตอรี่ การทดสอบและประเมินสมรรถนะยานยนต์ทั้งคัน การวิจัยเกี่ยวกับการออกแบบ และพัฒนายานยนต์ด้วยกระบวนการ Optimization และการประเมินความปลอดภัยของยานยนต์จากการชน และเทคโนโลยียานยนต์ขับเคลื่อนอัตโนมัติ

ความเชี่ยวชาญ

กลุ่มวิจัยมีความเชี่ยวชาญ ได้แก่
1.พัฒนาของเหลวไอออนิกชีวภาพ (Natural deep eutactic solvents) สำหรับการสกัดแยกสารประกอบจากชีวมวล
2.พัฒนากระบวนการได้มาซึ่งสารประกอบจากชีวมวลต่างๆ (เปลือกกระเทียม ฟางข้าว ผักตบชวา เป็นต้น) เพื่อสกัดสารจำพวกลิกนินและเซลลูโลสในการนำมาใช้ประโยชน์ทางวัสดุชีวภาพ
3.พัฒนาวัสดุผสม (composite material) จากพอลิเมอร์ชีวภาพและสารสกัดจากพืชเพื่อปรับปรุงสมบัติให้เหมาะสมต่อการนำไปใช้งานต่างๆ
4.พัฒนาการใช้ประโยชน์ต่อจากพอลิเมอร์ชีวภาพและสารสกัดจากพืช (ยาง เซลลูโลส) เพื่อประยุกต์ใช้งานด้านต่างๆ เช่น แผ่นแปะนำส่งยาทางผิวหนัง อุตสาหกรรมยางล้อ ยางทางการทหาร/แพทย์/วิศวกรรม

ศูนย์วิจัยมีความมุ่งหวังในการระดมสรรพวิชา ความรู้ ความชำนาญของกลุ่มนักวิจัยไทยที่มีประสบการณ์การขึ้นรูปชิ้นส่วนยานยนต์และอุตสาหกรรมสนับสนุนอื่น มากกว่า 30 ปีมาบรูณาการ ผนวกกับความเชี่ยวชาญด้านการผลิตของโรรงานอุตสาหกรรม ในการผลิตชิ้นส่วนยานยนต์สมัยใหม่และชิ้นส่วนอากาศยานภายใต้มาตรฐานข้อกำหนดบังคับของผู้ผลิต และข้อจำกัดในด้านการผลิตของภาคอุตสาหกรรม 3 ประการที่ได้กล่าวมาแล้ว ทั้งนี้เพื่อสร้างนวัตกรรม พัฒนาและยกระดับมาตรฐานวิชาชีพ สร้างรายได้ให้ได้กับแรงงานคุณภาพสูง สร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มแก่ตัวสินค้า ยกระดับในการแข่งขันเพิ่มส่วนแบ่งการตลาดเทคโนโลยีกับนานาชาติในระดับสูงสุด เป็นต้นแบบโรงงาน Zero waste ในอุตสาหกรรมยุค 4.0 สำหรับในส่วนการศึกษาและบุคลากรก็จะได้ในเรื่ององค์ความรู้จากการวิจัยและพัฒนา สำหรับการผลิตและสร้างคนรุ่นใหม่อย่างยั่งยืน
