KMUTT and Big Trees Foundation join forces to drive research and database development for green spaces in Thailand.

On October 11, 2024, Asst. Prof. Dr. Bunyaphat Suphanit, Director of the Pilot Plant Development and Training Institute (PDTI), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and the Board of Directors of the Rakmai Yai Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in driving research and database of green spaces in Thailand under the project “Development of prototype areas of trees to reduce dust and communication campaigns to raise awareness of environmental pollution in Bangkok” supported by the Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth) at KMUTT (Bang Khun Thian).
The Rakmai Yai Foundation and KMUTT collaborate to drive research and the database of green spaces in Thailand, from exchanging information, brainstorming, procuring resources to drive research and the database of green spaces in Thailand, including research, analyzing and monitoring research results, and developing the database of green spaces in the country. This cooperation has an initial period of 2 years, focusing on the benefits and well-being of the people.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Bunyaphat Suphanit, Director of Pilot Plant Development and Training Institute, KMUTT, said that KMUTT is very honored to be a part in driving the research and development of the green space database of Thailand. It focuses on supporting the exchange of information, brainstorming, and monitoring of research results related to environmental conservation and sustainable development, especially in the area of green space management. Our organization emphasizes supporting creative and practical research to drive the conservation and restoration of green spaces in the country under the collaboration with the Rakmai Yai Foundation. This is another important step in developing and driving the green space database of Thailand, which will be an important tool for the government, private sector, and communities in making policy decisions and managing green spaces sustainably.
