On 11 August 2026, Faculty of Engineering, KMUTT participated in the press conference marking the launch of the EGAT Green I Year 3 project under the theme “Green Innovation for ESG & Circular Future.” The event was organized by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) at the Auditorium, 3rd Floor, Building 103 (Th.103), EGAT Headquarters, Nonthaburi.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phromphong Pandee, Assistant Dean for Industrial Relations, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Athip Dulchindachabaporn, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Engineering, KMUTT, attended the press conference to learn about the project’s implementation framework and support collaboration between higher education institutions and the industrial sector in the areas of innovation and environmental sustainability.
The EGAT Green I Year 3 project, under the theme “Green Innovation for ESG & Circular Future,” aims to foster an ecosystem for environmental innovation and provide opportunities for faculty members and students in higher education to develop innovative ideas and solutions with potential for practical application. The project emphasizes the application of the Circular Economy concept alongside the promotion of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
The event featured an official press conference to launch the project, as well as a panel discussion entitled “GREEN INNOVATION FOR ESG & CIRCULAR FUTURE JOURNEY,” providing an opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on green innovation and the circular economy. The panel featured Professor Dr. Pisut Painmanakul, EGAT Board Member and Chairman of the Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee; Kotchakorn Voraakhom, CEO of Porous City Network; and Alexander Simon Rendell, Co-founder and CEO of the Environmental Education Centre (EEC).
The EGAT Green I Year 3 project comprises two initiatives: Circular Innovation Challenge, which provides participants with an opportunity to develop innovative ideas based on the circular economy concept, and Sustainable Concrete, which focuses on developing concrete-related concepts by utilizing by-products and local waste materials to create added value and promote efficient resource utilization.
The participation of Faculty of Engineering, KMUTT, in this event reflects KMUTT’s commitment to fostering knowledge creation and innovation in collaboration with the industrial sector, while supporting the development of environmental innovation and sustainable development.
