The 5th King Mongkut Study Project Seminar

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), through the Office of the University Library, hosted a seminar titled “The Value of Literary and Philological Works from the Reign of King Mongkut.” The event was opened with a report by Asst. Prof. Dr. Suthathip Maneewongvatana, Director of KMUTT Library, followed by an opening speech from Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chaowalit Limmaneevichitr, Vice President for Student and Learner Development, who presided over the event. The seminar was held at the Auditorium, 3rd Floor, Learning Exchange (LX) Building, and was also streamed online via Facebook LIVE: KMUTT.

This seminar was held to raise awareness of the value of Thai philology and literature from the reign of King Rama IV to the present day. The event was graciously supported by four distinguished speakers: 1) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wilaisak Kingkham, Editorial Board Member of the Royal Institute Dictionary; 2) Assoc. Prof. Churairat Laksanasiri, Head of the Thai Language Teaching Program at Ramkhamhaeng University; 3) Asst. Prof. Dr. Sara Meepolkij, Interdisciplinary Tourism Program, School of Tourism and Hospitality; 4) Asst. Prof. Dr. Duangkamol Aussavamas, Chair of the Thai Language and Culture Program, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Suan Dusit University. The knowledge-sharing session was moderated by Dr. Amornvich Nakornthap, Advisor to the President of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
