KMUTT Strengthens Academic Collaboration with FPT University in Vietnam

Hanoi, August 23, 2023 – King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) has received valuable guidance from the Royal Thai Embassy, Hanoi regarding fostering ties with FPT University in Vietnam. This initiative comes after a successful visit by KMUTT representatives to FPT Hanoi Campus in June. The visit revealed significant potential for collaboration.

On August 21-22, a delegation from KMUTT led by Prof. Dr. Booncharoen Sirinaovakul, Advisor to the President, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chawin Chantharasenawong, Vice President for Internationalization, traveled to FPT Danang Campus. This campus is recognized as a Smart City and often referred to as the “Silicon Valley of Vietnam.” Additionally, KMUTT delegates visited the FPT AI Campus in Quy Nhon. These visits underscored the strong potential for collaboration in particular fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, English Intensive Courses, and Short Term Programs.

In a significant step towards formalizing this partnership, KMUTT and FPT officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Royal Thai Embassy, Hanoi on August 23. The signing ceremony was made possible with the assistance and guidance of the Royal Thai Embassy, to which KMUTT expressed its gratitude.

The collaboration between KMUTT and FPT holds promise for mutually beneficial academic endeavors and knowledge exchange. Both institutions look forward to leveraging each other’s strengths and expertise to advance education and innovation for our ASEAN Community.
