KMUTT is a proud member of the esteemed World Technology University Network (WTUN), alongside three other distinguished Thai universities. This year’s WTUC 2023 was graciously hosted by Technische Universität Ilmenau.

Dr. Jens Müller, Vice President of International Affairs and Transfer at Technische Universität Ilmenau, warmly welcomed the member universities and led an engaging campus tour, showcasing notable facilities such as the I3TC – Ilmenau Interactive Immersive Technologies Center (I3TC), ZMN – Center for Micro- and Nanotechnologies, ZET – Center for Energy Technology, and ThIMo – Thüringer Innovationszentrum Mobilität.

Throughout the Congress, member universities engaged in fruitful discussions, sharing insights on a wide array of compelling topics. These included discussions on combating fake news pertaining to climate change and the organization of student activities aimed at promoting sustainability, led by Assistant Professor Passanan Assavarak, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs at the School of Liberal Arts of KMUTT and highlighted projects from the winners of the Student Competition 2023. The University of Technology Malaysia (UTM), as the host of WTUC 2024, also made a significant presentation. Looking ahead to WTUC 2025, Thaksin University from Thailand will have the honor of hosting the event.

Dr. Shirley Congdon, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bradford, led the WTUN Network Development Session. This session provided a platform for member universities to share ideas and shape the direction of the WTUN network to align with global future needs.

KMUTT joined WTUN in 2019 with the objective of fostering knowledge exchange and enhancing the quality of the university’s research and innovation through collaborations within the international network of technology universities.
