
The Office of General Education, School of Liberal Arts, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), in collaboration with the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), has implemented Phase 2 of the Project on Developing a Conceptual Framework for Curriculum Design for Professional and Specialized Fields under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) approach. The project aims to strengthen curriculum development and personnel training within the Group 5 universities.
On October 20, 2025, the project team organized the opening ceremony and project orientation at Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam Hotel. The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Punpermsak Aruni, Assistant Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, who presided over the opening ceremony and delivered the keynote remarks. A total of 48 administrators and representatives from 12 universities in Group 5 attended the event.





The program also featured keynote lectures by distinguished speakers on key topics:
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rattachat Mongkolnavin, Chair of the Screening Committee for Higher Education Institution Grouping, delivered a talk on “Expectations for Advancing Excellence among Group 5 Universities and Strategic Directions for Implementation.”
- Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bundit Thipakorn, Chair of the Special Subcommittee for the Management of the “New Breed Graduates” Project, gave a presentation on “Producing Graduates to Meet National Workforce Demands and Policy Directions.”
- Asst. Prof. Dr. Sasitorn Suwannathep, Project Leader, presented an overview and the implementation plan for Phase 2 of the project.
The event concluded successfully and marked an important milestone in advancing the Competency-Based Curriculum Framework for professional and specialized workforce development. This initiative reinforces the alignment between higher education and the country’s human resource needs, contributing to the production of skilled and competent professionals for the future.
