KMUTT holds the closing ceremony of the 11th generation of training for people with disabilities

On October 28, 2024, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) held a closing ceremony for the 11th Training-Internship Project for Persons with Disabilities to prepare them for entering the workplace and career. Mr. SUMATE TANCHAREON, the project chairman, gave a welcome speech and reported on the project’s progress. Associate Professor Dr. Suwit Saetia, the president, gave a congratulatory speech and presented certificates to the persons with disabilities who participated in the project.

This training project is from May 1 to October 31, 2024, for a period of 6 months. There are 42 participants who have completed the training in the Office Staff course, Digital Media Production course, and Local Handicraft Product Development course. The budget is supported by the establishments under the Promotion and Development of the Quality of Life of Persons with Disabilities Act, Section 35, namely, Danieli Co., Ltd., Srithai Miyagawa Co., Ltd., Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited, Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Public Company Limited, Stonehenge Inter Public Company Limited, and Asian Engineering Consultants Co., Ltd. and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.

This project has been organized for 11 consecutive years to develop the potential of people with disabilities in terms of work skills, adaptation, and coexistence. This is not only for working in workplaces, but also provides opportunities for self-employment. It has received cooperation from many agencies, including educational institutions, agencies caring for people with disabilities, and local government agencies, such as the Area 2 Employment Office and Thung Khru District Office, as well as personnel within KMUTT who have helped support the implementation of this project.
