The Continuing Education Center under the Institute for Scientific and Technological Research and Service at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) officially held the closing ceremony for the “KMUTT Smart Senior” Program – First Cohort on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Phuttharaksa Meeting Room, The 3rd Floor of Seminar Building, KMUTT.
The ceremony was presided over by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Suvit Saetia, President of KMUTT, who presented certificates to the 36 program graduates and delivered a congratulatory speech. The event was also graced by the Director of Thung Khru District Office, Assoc.Prof. Anek Siripanichgorn, Director of the Institute for Scientific and Technological Research and Service, and the program’s team of instructors. The “KMUTT Smart Senior” program aims to enhance digital literacy among the elderly, made possible through the collaboration of multiple organizations, including the Thung Khru District Office, KMUTT Ratchaburi and Bang Khun Thian campuses, the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), Darunsikkhalai School for Innovative Learning, and various KMUTT departments. Training topics included foundational knowledge in artificial intelligence (AI), mobile photography and video editing techniques, and the use of everyday technologies—such as energy-saving practices and emergency preparedness. The program was designed to build confidence, bridge the digital divide, and empower seniors to participate creatively in society while improving access to communication, health information, and online services.
KMUTT’s “Smart Senior” program promotes lifelong learning and sustainable digital inclusion, enabling elderly participants to apply their skills in daily life and continue contributing to society.
The “KMUTT Smart Senior” Program – Second Cohort is now open for applications from today until June 25, 2025. The training will take place from July 2 to August 20, 2025, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (Bangmod Campus).
