The executive team of KMUTT and the executive team of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, KMUTT traveled to visit 4 leading universities in Taiwan.

On November 12-17, 2024, the executives of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suwit Saetia, President, along with the Vice President for Planning and Strategy, the Assistant to the President for International Development, and the executive team from the Faculty of Industrial Education, KMUTT, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tanes Tanitteerapan (Dean), visited 4 leading universities in Taiwan. On the first day, November 13, 2024, they visited Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), a private technological university founded by Formosa Plastics Group (FPG), which is prominent in engineering and technology. They visited the photo studio and recording studio, and discussed cooperation and listened to presentations from students under the special 3+2 program, which is an example of cooperation. The Department of Technology and Communication, KMUTT, will come for an internship in 2025. They also discussed new cooperation in AI and Semiconductor, which are new fields with high potential and will help develop human resources. Later on November 14, 2024, visited Yuan Ze University (YZU: Yuan-Zhi), a private university famous for producing personnel in the field of Semiconductor, to sign a cooperation agreement between KMUTT and YZU. Discussions were held on student or personnel exchange and research. YZU invited students from KMUTT to study at YZU under various programs such as Dual Degree in AI, Semiconductor, Electronic Engineering, etc. to promote Internationalization, which will facilitate cooperation in the next 2-3 years. Then visited the College of Engineering in the Lab room used for teaching, Studio exams used for online teaching by teachers and student practice. Listened to lectures and visited the Smart Sustainable Zero Carbon Laboratory and Beer Lab, etc. Later on November 15, 2024, visited National Changhua University of Education (NCUE), an institution of higher education specializing in education and teacher production. It has important units such as the Center for Teacher Education and Professional Development, and exchanged ideas about the education systems of Thailand and Taiwan, especially in terms of teacher production. And the career perspectives of students from both countries. Then visited the College of Technology, which has a program offered by the faculty to produce Taiwan’s vocational teachers. There is a technical college to produce technicians within the campus. Discussions were held on the teacher production mechanism. It was found that Taiwan uses a system for students to study engineering and technology for 4 years. If students are interested in becoming teachers, they must study more about the teaching profession and undergo a 1-year teaching internship before being able to take the teacher licensing exam. On the last day, November 16, 2024, joined the 100th anniversary celebration of the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) with representatives from universities and agencies from many countries, including Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, England, Jamaica, Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines. We also visited the Faculty of Engineering and tried out a driverless electric car, one of the innovations developed by the NPUST Faculty of Engineering. Later, there was a discussion of academic cooperation on the Taiwan-KMUTT Internship Program (TKIP), which began in 2017 but was temporarily suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic. and will resume operations in 2023. The discussion focused on furthering cooperation in the future. The visit by the executives this time is an opportunity for KMUTT to develop good relationships with Taiwanese universities, which will lead to sustainable cooperation in the future.
