KMUTT organized a curriculum visit and public hearing on the competency framework for the Bioinformatics program, aiming to promote workforce development in support of future science and innovation.

The Bioinformatics and Systems Biology Program, under the School of Bioresources and Technology at KMUTT, in collaboration with the Thai Bioinformatics Researcher Network, organized a curriculum visit and public hearing on the draft competency framework for the field of bioinformatics from May 15–16, 2025. The aim was to gather feedback and enhance the curriculum to meet the needs of various sectors.

On May 15, 2025, the curriculum visit took place at the Bioprocess Research and Innovation Building (BRI), KMUTT Bang Khun Thian Campus. Program administrators and faculty members delivered opening remarks, followed by a panel discussion titled “Seamless Interdisciplinary Education for High-Caliber Bioinformatics & Systems Biology Incubator to Produce Professional Workforce for Driving Sciences & Innovation,” featuring distinguished experts from various disciplines. Attendees also toured laboratories and research exhibition booths.

On May 16, 2025, the public hearing was held at the President’s Office Building, KMUTT. The event provided a platform for stakeholders from the public sector, private enterprises, and academic institutions to share their views on the four core areas of the competency framework: knowledge, skills, ethics, and personal attributes. The goal was to revise the curriculum to align with the demands of a science- and innovation-driven labor market. This event marked a significant step in fostering collaboration between academia and industry to sustainably elevate the quality of graduates in the fields of bioinformatics and systems biology.
