Drafted an action plan to enhance Thailand’s climate change capacity under the Department of Climate Change and Environment

On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, Assistant Professor Dr. Passanan Assavarak, Assistant Dean for Research, School of Liberal Arts, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi in collaboration with Advantage Consulting Co., Ltd., jointly drafted an action plan to enhance Thailand’s climate change capacity under the Department of Climate Change and Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The action plan aligns with the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement. The event took place at the Pullman King Power Hotel, Rangnam, Bangkok. 

The event was attended by 120 participants from government agencies, the private sector, academic institutions, civil society, and the media. The drafting of the action plan is part of the efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065, through Thailand’s long-term greenhouse gas emission strategy (LT-LEDS), in line with the country’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and the promotion of a bio-circular-green economy (BCG).
