On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) held a workshop titled “Internal Control: Standards and Department-Level Evaluation Reporting.” The objective of the event was to foster knowledge, understanding, and enhance the capabilities of university personnel at all levels in effectively implementing internal control operations in alignment with the university’s policies and the Ministry of Finance’s regulations.
This training was conducted under the directive to appoint a committee responsible for establishing the university’s internal control system and monitoring its evaluation. The aim is to enable all units—whether faculties, offices, institutes, departments under the Office of the President, or affiliated organizations—to accurately and comprehensively prepare internal control evaluation reports and to implement the established system efficiently. This implementation should achieve its objectives while continuously improving to suit the specific context and risks of each unit. The training was divided into two sessions. The morning session, held from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Prapha Prachaksuphaniti Meeting Room (AD907), 9th Floor, Office of the President Building, consisted of theoretical lectures on concepts, principles, and practical applications of internal control standards and criteria for public sector agencies. This session was also broadcast live via ZOOM Meeting. The afternoon session, from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, was a practical workshop focused on system design, application, and reporting of internal control in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s criteria. It took place at the V-Space Meeting Room, 14th Floor, Learning Exchange (LX) Building.
The training session was honored to feature Deputy Director of the Human Capital Development Center at Suan Dusit University, as the guest speaker. He shared valuable knowledge, experiences, and practical guidelines that can be adapted to the specific contexts of individual departments. This initiative represents another key activity in strengthening the university’s internal control system, aiming to enhance transparency, accountability, and auditability in support of KMUTT’s mission to advance public sector management toward excellence.
