The National Nuclear Institute visited the welding engineering works at KMUTT.

On October 9, 2024, the Welding Engineering Research and Services Center (KINGWELD), under the Institute for Scientific and Technological Research and Services (ISTRS), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), welcomed a group of study visitors and experts from the National Nuclear Institute (Public Organization) (TINT) to visit and study welding engineering and destructive and non-destructive inspection at the Production Engineering Department Conference Room (B11-901).

Assoc.Prof.Dr. BOVORNCHOK POOPAT, Head of WELDING RESEARCH AND CONSULTING CENTER (KINGWELD), welcomed and led the group to visit the Engineering Department and various laboratories, which consist of the Welding Laboratory and the Destructive and Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory. KINGWELD Center is recognized for its modern equipment and technologies used in testing and inspection, such as ISO 17025 certified mechanical testing and non-destructive testing using high-frequency ultrasonic, eddy current, penetrant, magnetic powder, radiography, and Acoustic Emission testing.

The purpose of this visit is to enhance knowledge in welding engineering and related inspection processes to further develop work in this field, as well as to create further collaboration between the National Nuclear Institute and the Welding Engineering Research and Service Center (KINGWELD), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.
