FIBO hosts the event “30 Years of FIBO: Robotics for a Sustainable Future” to celebrate its success and showcase cutting-edge robotic innovations.

On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the founding of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO), the institute has organized the opening ceremony of the “30 Years of FIBO: Robotics for a Sustainable Future” exhibition. This event aims to showcase Thailand’s capabilities in robotics and innovation, highlighting cutting-edge robots and interactive exhibitions. The exhibition takes place from February 6–8, 2025, at the Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO).

The official opening ceremony was presided over by director of the Institute of Field Robotics. The event was honored by chairman of the University Council, who delivered a congratulatory speech. Also in attendance were president of KMUTT, along with university executives. Following the opening ceremony, FIBO executives led distinguished guests, honored attendees, and the media on a tour of the exhibition.

The exhibition is divided into four main zones: (1) FIBO History & Partners Zone – Showcasing FIBO’s history and key partnerships, (2) Robotics Thai-Tradition Zone – Featuring robots integrated with Thai cultural beliefs, such as robotic talisman writing and spirit mediums, (3) Innovation & Research Zone – Showcasing industrial, medical, and sustainability-focused innovations by faculty and students, and (4) Professional & Collaboration Zone – Showcasing national and international collaborations through academic conferences, seminars, and workshops. Leading robotics and AI organizations, such as NVIDIA, will host activities and discussions.

Asst.Prof.Dr. Supachai Vongbunyong outlined FIBO’s future direction, stating: “FIBO aims to become ‘One of the Most Attractive Robotics Institutes in ASEAN’ by 2027, with a strong focus on developing both soft skills and hard skills in our students. This will equip them to adapt and solve real-world problems effectively. We are committed to creating high-impact technologies and world-class innovations, enabling our students to confidently step onto the international stage.”
