On October 7, 2024, KMUTT organized the “KOSEN KMUTT Opportunity Day 2024” Showcasing Skills, Finding Opportunity, a showcase activity from KOSEN KMUTT students, batch 1-2, and booths from over 20 leading companies, held on the 3rd floor of the Learning Exchange (LX) Building, KMUTT.

KOSEN KMUTT opens its stage for students to showcase their skills and talents, fostering opportunities and partnerships with industry at “KOSEN KMUTT Opportunity Day 2024.” The event is designed to bridge education and real-world industry needs, aiming to create the next generation of innovators.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Sudchai Boonto, Head of the Department of Control and Instrumentation Engineering, said that the Department of Control and Instrumentation Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, and the Office of Engineering-Science Classroom have jointly implemented the KOSEN KMUTT project in Automation Engineering (International) with the awareness and foresight of the need to increase opportunities and access to vacancies in the industrial sector for KOSEN KMUTT students in their fifth year who are about to graduate with an associate degree. This is to serve as a medium for meeting leading employers/establishments with KOSEN KMUTT students who are going to do Work-integrated Learning (WiL) internships in the second semester of 2024 and graduate directly, creating employment opportunities between KOSEN KMUTT program students and leading establishments in Thailand and Japan that have booths to talk to students, totaling more than 20 companies, and an opportunity to network between the Automation Engineering Program (International), Department of Control and Instrumentation Engineering, and the industrial sector for diverse educational collaboration in the future.

The event was honored by the diplomatic delegation from the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, led by Ms. Kawamura Maki, Minister Counselor. She said about the event that this event is considered a way to build a relationship between the Kosen Institute of Japan and the Thai Kosen Institute. The Kosen teaching method, which is famous all over the world, can be applied to KOSEN KMUTT students and will become a major force in developing the industrial sector in Thailand in the future. The delegation also visited the exhibition of student work and had a friendly chat with the students.

The Director of the Thai Kosen Institute Project, Acting as Strategy and Planning Advisor for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and the representative of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, said that the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation places importance on the teaching and learning of the Thai Kosen Institute, which is a collaborative teaching and learning with business establishments and the industrial sector. This integrates teaching and learning with real work in a real setting. Students will receive theoretical knowledge at the university level along with learning how to work, practicing thinking processes and solving real problems from the industrial sector. He also thanked the KMUTT working group for organizing this event so that KOSEN KMUTT project students can showcase their potential to the distinguished guests, KMUTT executives, and company representatives who came to set up booths.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, President of KMUTT and the chairman of the opening ceremony, said that this event is the first time that KMUTT has organized this event, highlighting the concept of Showing Skills, Finding Opportunity, a stage to showcase one’s abilities and create job opportunities. In the academic year 2024, 18 students will graduate as the first batch, in order to prepare both knowledge and skills. It is also a great opportunity for students to meet, talk, and exchange engineering perspectives with expert partner companies. This is in line with the strategic plan of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation to build cooperation with the industrial sector and to be able to build strong relationships and create sustainability in the development of the country’s workforce. This is a beautiful first step for KOSEN KMUTT students who are ready to enter the real workforce with confidence.
