On Saturday, October 5, 2024, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi organized a Travel Sightseeing project “Religious Relations and Knowledge of King Mongkut” with a group of lecturers from Suan Dusit University joining the trip and giving lectures.

The group of 50 students, staffs of KMUTT and general public traveled to Wat Ratchathiwat Vihara and Wat Konsepchan, the starting point of King Mongkut’s study of various fields of knowledge during his ordination, including Dhammakadi and secular studies in the fields of literature, linguistics and cultural exchange with other nations. The group studied the lifestyles of the Portuguese and Khmer communities, then traveled to Wat Ratchapathikaram, a temple newly built by King Pinklao, studied Vietnamese-Christian culture and saw the fusion of Chinese and Vietnamese art. Finally, they visited the Thapthim Shrine at the foot of Sanghi Bridge, which reflects the culture of Hainanese people.
