Policy Recommendations Presentation: Research Management and Capacity Building (Batch 2)

The Science Technology and Innovation Policy Institute (STIPI) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), supported by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), organized the Research Management and Capacity Building (RMCB) Batch 2. The project aims to develop scientific research management systems and personnel at the higher education level in Lao PDR. The project participants consisted of 20 individuals from agencies related to research and higher education in Lao PDR, including the Department of Higher Education, the Department of Science, the Office of National Science Council, the Science and Innovation Research Institute, the National University of Laos, the Champasack University, the Souphanouvong University, and the Savannakhet University. 

On May 27, 2025, STIPI held an online presentation for policy recommendations by participants in the RMCB Batch 2, as part of the Group Project activity. This activity was conducted from September 2, 2024, to May 27, 2025, involved participants undertaking hands-on policy development and selected policy topics of interest according to the context of research and innovation development at both national and institutional levels in Lao PDR. For example, topics included the Monitoring and Evaluation of Research system, the Promotion of Agricultural Innovation, and the Developing of Human Resources. Additionally, participants had advisors and STIPI researchers who provided consultation and worked collaboratively with them throughout the program, which helped fostered strong cooperation between both parties.
