KMUTT Organizes Charity Market Event to Aid Myanmar Earthquake Victims, Raising Funds to Support Rescue and Recovery Missions While Promoting Social Responsibility Awareness

Thai students, international students, and alumni from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), led by students from the School of Architecture and Design, have come together to organize a “Charity Market” to raise funds for victims of the devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28, 2025. The disaster caused widespread damage and has already claimed over 2,000 lives, with the death toll expected to rise further.

The event was held from April 23 to 26, 2025, between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the multipurpose plaza in front of the Learning Exchange (LX) Building, KMUTT Bangmod Campus. All proceeds from the event will be donated to reputable relief organizations to provide prompt and targeted assistance to those affected by the disaster.

On April 23, 2025, the event was honored by the presence of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Suvit Saetia, President of KMUTT, along with Dr. Krissanapong Kiratikara, University Advisor; Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chaowalit Limmaneevichitr, Vice President for Student and Learner Development; and Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chawin Chantharasenawong, Vice President for Internationalization, who all joined the event together.

In addition to its fundraising objectives, the event also aimed to raise awareness about natural disasters, promote a spirit of sharing, and foster empathy within society. The event was meticulously planned, ensuring transparency and a structured process for selecting donation recipients, focusing on organizations with proven track records in rescue and relief operations.
