Action Plan to Strengthen Cooperation on Climate Change in Thailand

On Tuesday 10 September 2024, Asst.Prof.Dr. PASSANAN ASSAVARAK, Assistant Dean for Research, Faculty of Liberal Arts, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (Bangmod), in collaboration with Advantage Consulting Co., Ltd., jointly developed a (draft) action plan to enhance capacity for action on climate change under the Department of Climate Change and Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The action plan is implemented in accordance with Article 6 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement at Pullman King Power Rangnam Hotel, Bangkok.

The day’s activities were attended by 120 government agencies, private sector, academic institutions, civil society and media. The drafting of the (draft) Action Plan is part of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065 through the Long-Term Strategy on Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction (LT-LEDS) in line with Thailand’s National Targets (NDCs) and the promotion of the Bio-Circular and Green Economy (BCG).
