SoA+D, KMUTT Showcases Student Work and Wins Awards at “Architect’68: Past Present Perfect” 

The “Architect’68” exposition, held under the theme “Past Present Perfect”, concluded successfully between April 28 – May 3, 2025, at Challenger Halls 1–3, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. The event, organized by The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA), extended the celebration of ASA’s 90th anniversary by highlighting the evolution of Thai architecture through the past, present, and future. The event featured exhibitions, showcases, activities, and collaborative initiatives from various sectors. 

The School of Architecture and Design (SoA+D), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), participated by presenting a variety of student projects from all academic programs. One of the key features of the SoA+D booth was the Mock Classroom, a hands-on activity area that allowed visitors to explore, experience, and engage with the diverse learning approaches offered at the school.

A major highlight of the event was the announcement of the ASA Experimental Design Competition 2025 winners. The first prize in the general public category was awarded to Team TANN ARCH, composed of SoA+D alumni:

  • Mr. Kanokpol Prachyarattanametee 
  • Mr. Tinnaphob Thummavutichai 
  • Mr. Nuttapong Boonlon 

The winning team was selected by a distinguished panel of five judges: Mr. Jerry Hong, Ms. Kultida Songkittipakdee, Mr. Adul Kaewdee, Mr. Christo Meyer, and Mr. Kulapat Yantrasast. 

Additionally, current SoA+D students were recognized with awards in undergraduate design thesis competitions, as follows: 

  • Mr. Thanit Rujivannakul 
    Architecture student 
    Awarded 3rd Prize (Central Region) in the TOY ARCH 2024 (Thesis of the Year in Architecture) competition. 
    Project title: “Cattle Market Adaptation to Survive” 
  • Ms. Vannida Vaenkaew 
    Interior Architecture student 
    Received 3rd Prize in the TIDA Thesis Awards 2024 
    Project title: “Bangkok Civic Center – Sala Khon Krung Project” 
    Advisor: Asst. Prof. Chanida Lumthaweepaisal

The event also featured the TIDA Salone, an interior design showcase curated by the Thailand Interior Designers’ Association (TIDA), which continues to be a vibrant platform for design exploration and dialogue for over a decade.
