KMUTT Collaborates with Executives from 12 Higher Education Institutions to Drive Forward “Reinventing University” Toward Excellence in a Time of Transformation

From October 31 to November 2, 2025, the “Executive Workshop: Phase 2” was organized, selecting senior executives from 12 higher education institutions under Group 5—Professional and Specialized Workforce Production and Development (a total of 48 participants). The workshop aimed to jointly develop strategic plans to reinvent universities in alignment with national directions and future workforce needs.

The session was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Bundit Thipakorn, Chair of the Special Subcommittee on the New Breed Graduate Production Project, who delivered a keynote on “Global Workforce Trends and Transformations in Education”, providing participants with key insights and future directions. Additionally, Assistant Professor Dr.  Sasitorn Suwannathep, Project Leader, presented on “Guidelines for Strengthening Excellence among Group 5 Universities” and shared results from the readiness assessment for institutional transformation.

The primary objective of this workshop was to enable university leaders to re-examine strategies and approaches for institutional transformation, emphasizing the identification of each institution’s genuine strengths and areas of expertise. Participants worked collaboratively to develop systematic action plans across key domains such as human resource management, financial and budget planning, governance improvement, and the development of specialized academic programs.

Dr. Panlert Siriwong, Associate Dean for Educational and Learning Development, School of Liberal Arts, KMUTT, served as a lead facilitator alongside group coaches and learning support facilitators. The workshop involved the application of SOAR Analysis (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) to deeply identify distinct academic and professional strengths that position each institution to effectively produce qualified professional and specialized personnel across all dimensions.

This training initiative has sparked meaningful momentum, enabling university executives to formulate clear strategic roadmaps for transforming Group 5 universities. The outcomes are expected to empower each institution to produce high-quality graduates with competencies aligned to labor market demands, thereby contributing to Thailand’s future economic growth.
