The 3rd ASEAN+ Summer Camp 2025

From July 27 to August 2, 2025, the School of Liberal Arts, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) hosted the 3rd ASEAN+ Summer Camp 2025 under the theme “Industrial Innovation for Sustainable Entrepreneurship.” This initiative continues the collaboration within the ASEAN Faculty of Economics and Business Collaborative Working Group (ACWG), which began in 2022. The program aims to equip students with knowledge in business and industrial innovation for sustainability, while also enhancing their English communication skills in intercultural contexts.

A total of 58 faculty members and students from five countries – Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Japan -participated in the program. The “ASEAN+” title reflects the inclusion of Japanese students in the camp. Although Japan is not a member of ASEAN, the country plays a significant role in supporting regional academic exchange and cooperation.

Throughout the program, students engaged in a wide range of hands-on activities, including lectures on Entrepreneurship and Sustainability, a CEO Talk with business leaders, industrial visits to Avani Ratchada Bangkok Hotel and The Klinique, as well as Thai cultural workshops and project consultations with expert faculty members.

The camp also featured a field trip on innovation and environmental issues through the exhibition “Wondrous Bloom” at the Exhibition Development Building, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Herbal Garden, in Rayong Province. On the final day, students collaborated in groups to present their ideas in the Sustainable and Innovative Product Pitching session. This activity allowed them to integrate the knowledge and experiences gained throughout the camp into creative and sustainable product or service concepts, fostering cross-cultural teamwork and professional presentation skills.

The program concluded with a farewell dinner where participants wore national costumes and showcased cultural performances from all five countries. The event highlighted the spirit of friendship and intercultural connection among students and faculty, laying a strong foundation for future academic and professional endeavors.
