
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, the Admissions and Recruitment Office at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) held the opening ceremony for the 2B-KMUTT Batch 19 Future Leader Camp—a training program designed to develop skills and hands-on experience in scientific and technological research, design, and innovation. The event took place at the Chamrat Chayaphong Meeting Room at KMUTT. The ceremony began with Mrs. Kunyakamol Khiewvarn, Director of Admissions and Recruitment Office, delivering a report and outlining the objectives of the program. Following this, Assoc. Prof. Dr.Chaowalit Limmaneevichitr, Vice President for Student and Learner Development, presided over the ceremony and officially inaugurated the 2B-KMUTT Batch 19 program, which is set to run from March 19 to April 4, 2025.



This was followed by a briefing on camp guidelines by an officer from the Admissions and Recruitment Office. A 2B-KMUTT Batch 18 alumnus and an incoming first-year student in Industrial Engineering, then provided an overview of the camp’s rules and regulations. Next, there were two lectures: “Defining Research Problems” and “Engineering and Technological Development”, delivered by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Patcharapit Promoppatum, a 2B-KMUTT Batch 3 alumnus and faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. “2B-KMUTT: Change Agent for SDGs”, presented by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Yossapong Laoonual, Assistant to the President for Sustainability.






The 2B-KMUTT program aims to provide Grade 10-11 high school students and first- and second-year vocational students from across Thailand with hands-on experience in research processes, invention, design, and innovation, while also allowing them to experience university life. Throughout the two-week program, participants are mentored by university faculty and researchers. Now in its 19th batch, the program is divided into 10 research groups, covering the following fields: Future Energy, Robotics and Automation, Food Innovation, Information Technology, Multimedia, Applied Mathematics and Physics, Environmental Science, Materials Science, Civil Engineering and Logistics, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
