KMUTT Hosts Delegation from Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport in Collaboration with the World Bank.

In a significant step towards fostering international collaboration in the field of higher education, the delegation from the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport (MoEYS) in Cambodia, headed by H.E. Mak Ngoy, Director General of Higher Education, engaged in a knowledge-sharing session with representatives from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) on Friday, December 15th, 2023.

The delegation, including key figures from Cambodian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and facilitated by the World Bank, was welcomed by Dr. Kanyawim Kirtikara, Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation at KMUTT. The visit encompassed a series of insightful sessions aimed at exploring collaborative initiatives and understanding KMUTT’s research ecosystem. The program commenced with an introduction and welcome speech by Dr. Kanyawim Kirtikara. H.E. Mak Ngoy, Director General of Higher Education, MoEYS, followed with a notable speech, emphasizing the importance of cross-border collaboration in advancing education and research. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chawin Chantharasenawong, Vice President for Internationalization at KMUTT, then provided a brief overview of the collaborative initiatives between KMUTT and Cambodian HEIs, shedding light on the potential avenues for joint research and academic partnerships. Dr. Kanyawim further delved into the organization of the research ecosystem at KMUTT, sharing valuable experiences and insights. Dr. Tassaneewan Laksanasopin, in a subsequent session, highlighted KMUTT’s Research and Innovation Ecosystem, focusing on mechanisms to promote and support technology commercialization.

The purpose of the visit was to gain profound insights into how KMUTT organizes its research ecosystem and to explore the university’s state-of-the-art facilities, particularly the research labs. The delegation had the opportunity to engage with professors and staff, fostering an exchange of ideas and best practices. The visit concluded with a shared lunch, providing a relaxed setting for further networking and discussions before the delegation’s departure from the university. This collaborative endeavor signifies a commitment to strengthening international ties in the realm of higher education and research, paving the way for potential future partnerships between KMUTT and Cambodian institutions.
