On Saturday, 27 April 2024, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) held the 28th brainstorming meeting of the University Council Committee together with the executives of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT RETREAT) at Thian Talay Meeting Room 1 (BRI-224), 2nd Floor, Bioprocess Research and Innovation Building (BRI), KMUTT, Bang Khun Thian.
The meeting was chaired by Emeritus Dr. Yongyuth Yuthavong, President of the University Council, aiming to brainstorm on the topic “BANG KHUN TIEN NEXT: The Future of KMUTT Bang Khun Thian” covering the overall perspective and development vision of KMUTT Bang Khun Thian, student development, sustainability, entrepreneurship development to boost regional economy, environmental science, past, present, and future of the Bang Khun Thian area, as well as research and academic services for the community and society. Participants shared their opinions and suggestions throughout the meeting to enhance the operations of KMUTT and Bang Khun Thian in addressing future challenges for the country.
In the afternoon, Asst. Prof. Waraluk Pansuwan, Dean of the School of Architecture and Design, along with Ms. Kiatkamon Nilapornkun, Landscape Architecture lecturer, delivered a lecture on the topic “BKT Next: Past, Present, and Future of the Bang Khun Thian Area” covering research and academic services for the community and society. Following the lecture, attendees visited various exhibitions and areas, including the exhibition hall on the 1st floor of SoA+D Bldg., and the exhibition room on the 1st floor of the Media Arts and Technology Building. They enjoyed a dinner by the lakeside surrounded by beautiful mangrove trees and evening skies. The lighting arrangement was arranged by the Lighting Research and Innovation Center (LRIC), led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Chanyaporn Bstieler. Dinner was prepared using ingredients sourced from the surrounding Bang Khun Thian area and served in containers made from local trees in the Bang Khun Thian area, with contributions from staff and alumni of the School of Architecture and Design.
