Faculty of Science, KMUTT organized Meet The CEO and Idea Pitching activities under the topic “Social Enterprise and Food Security”

On November 21, 2024, the Faculty of Science, KMUTT organized a seminar and innovation concept competition.

Activities in the event included a seminar on “Social Enterprise and Food Security in Thailand”, with experts from various leading organizations sharing their views, including the CEO of Doi Kham Food Products Co., Ltd., executives of the College Learning Center Network in the Palace, board members of Ajinomoto (Thailand) Co., Ltd., seniors from the Senate of community organizations, sub-districts, and national levels, and the founder of SciShine Co., Ltd. The speakers emphasized the role of building a network of cooperation between the business sector and communities to enhance cooperation in developing an efficient, quality food production system and reducing food shortages throughout the system.

After that, there was a “Workshop on Idea Innovation for Food Security” activity, in which students from various fields and students from Indonesia participated in the activity. There was a brainstorming session to develop new approaches that address food security, such as developing healthy food products, reducing waste in the production process, applying AI in agriculture, and creating equity in the food distribution system. Each group presented their work in a pitching format, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tula Chudarasak, Dean of the Faculty of Science, presiding over the presentation awards ceremony and thanking the university executives who supported the project, the alumni network that supported the project budget, and the Idea Pitching judging committee who jointly considered the students’ work.

This event not only inspired and developed the skills of innovative thinking for the participating students, but also networked with alumni and current students, entrepreneurs, civil society and government agencies to understand social enterprises and drive impactful approaches at the national level.
