Orientation for New International Students for Semester 1 of the 2025 Academic Year.

The International Affairs Office recently hosted the Orientation for New International Students for Semester 1 of the 2025 Academic Year, held from July 21 to August 1, 2025.
The orientation welcomed around 80 students from over 10 countries, with the goal of helping international students understand the Thai education system, adapt to a new social and cultural environment, and feel more comfortable living and studying at KMUTT.

The program featured a variety of engaging activities designed to introduce students to Thai life and culture. Highlights included the Campus Tour, Welcome Party, Thai Cooking Class, Thai Cultural Workshop, Thai Boxing, and many more. Students learned how to make popular Thai dishes such as Som Tum (papaya salad), Thai tea, Bua Loy (sticky rice dumplings in coconut milk), and Nam Khaeng Sai (Thai-style shaved ice). They also experienced hands-on cultural activities like garland making and traditional Thai games such as Mak Kep.

Throughout the orientation, KMUTT Buddies – Thai student volunteers – played a key role in guiding and assisting the international students, helping to make the experience not only educational but also fun and meaningful. This interaction helped build friendships and supported a smoother transition into life at KMUTT.

In addition, students had the opportunity to take a Thai Boxing class at the Chalermprakiat Sports Center (Bangmod), giving them firsthand experience with one of Thailand’s most iconic martial arts and cultural traditions.

The program doesn’t end there. The International Affairs Office will soon organize a 2-day, 1-night Cultural Tour to Kanchanaburi Province. This trip will give students a chance to relax, explore local life, and deepen their understanding of Thai traditions, while strengthening bonds between international students, Thai students, and university staff.
