“KMUTT Disability Awareness for All” Project – Session II: Embracing the Heart of Care

The KMUTT Disability Support Services Unit, in collaboration with the School of Liberal Arts and the Continuing Education Center, has launched the “KMUTT Disability Awareness for All” project. This initiative integrates learning activities into SSC262 Learning Development, a course designed to cultivate awareness of an inclusive society for all by fostering volunteerism for persons with disabilities (PWDs). The project aims to encourage KMUTT students to become part of a volunteer network that supports and assists people with disabilities in society. It is co-funded by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) and consists of three learning sessions.

This event marks Session II: Embracing the Heart of Care, designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in caregiving and disability development. The session will take place on March 27, 2025, at the Ban Nontapum Protection and Development of People with Disabilities in Nonthaburi. The event is honored to be welcomed by the director of Ban Nontapum, along with her team.

During the program, participants will attend a lecture on “Roles, Missions, and Services in Enhancing the Quality of Life for Persons with Disabilities”. Following this, they will engage in interactive learning activities with PWDs in various fields, including: Physical Therapy and Sports, Occupational Therapy, Developmental and Music Therapy, and Nursing Care. With over 40 participants, the session will also introduce an experiential learning activity focused on understanding visual impairment. Moreover, students will collaborate in brainstorming and designing social innovation models to promote inclusivity and improve the lives of persons with disabilities.
