




October 19, 2024, Bangkok – Solar-Cyber.com, Cloudsec Asia Co., Ltd., King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), and the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) jointly organized the “Cyber Range Thailand 2024” competition, announcement of results and awards ceremony at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. This Cybersecurity competition aims to promote the benefits of Cyber Range in the information technology and Cybersecurity industry in Thailand and to enhance the skills of educational institutions, academics, researchers, lecturers, students, and the general public interested in cybersecurity to exchange knowledge and experiences in cybersecurity technology and maintenance, and to recognize the importance of creating organizations with cybersecurity resilience, as well as having the tools and methods to achieve the desired goals. Cyber Range is a specialized virtual environment simulation that simulates a real-world IT/OT infrastructure for cybersecurity training, testing, and skills development.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suwit Saetia, President, presided over the opening ceremony, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Vorapoch Angkasith, Dean of Graduate Studies, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Chirasil Chayawan, Deputy Dean for Administration, College of Management and Innovation. In addition, Asst. Prof. Dr. CHIRASIL CHAYAWAN, as the co-chair of the event, presented the winners of the competition.
The competition formats are divided into 1) Develop skills through cyber security response training and expose new skills through the world-class Cyber Range system. Participants can participate in responding to realistic cyber threat simulations through simulated incident response exercises. 2) Reduce the Talent Gap: Hands-on training to enhance skills and narrow the gap for cyber security personnel, and help address the industry’s shortage of professionals. 3) Foster Innovation: The competition will stimulate the development and adoption of new innovations in cyber security. Competitors can test their ideas, solve complex problems, and interact with cyber security solutions that simulate real-world threat events.
