The Faculty of Engineering, KMUTT, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Athip Dulchindachabaporn, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Tanapon Kumpao, a faculty member of the Department of Electrical Engineering, together with students from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, joined forces with Asst. Prof. Dr. Tanapon Tamrongkunanan, a faculty member of the Department of Electrical Technology Education, and students from the Department of Electrical Technology Education, Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology.
The KMUTT team collaborated with the “Singha R-SA” volunteer network, supported by Boon Rawd Brewery Co., Ltd. and the Phraya Bhirom Bhakdi Foundation, along with three King Mongkut’s institutions: King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), and King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL). Together, they carried out the project “Household Electrical System Inspection Service Center for Flood-Affected Communities” from October 9 to 11, 2026, to assist residents affected by flooding in Khlong Song Ton Nun, Lat Krabang District, Bangkok.
The project focused on inspecting and assessing the safety of household electrical systems following the receding floodwaters, particularly electrical wiring, electrical equipment, and connection points that may have been damaged by flooding. The team also provided guidance on restoring household electrical systems and preventing electrical hazards, including electrical leakage, electric shock, and short circuits. These efforts aimed to reduce risks to lives and property while helping residents regain confidence in safely using electrical systems in their homes.
In addition to providing assistance to affected communities, the initiative offered students valuable opportunities to apply their electrical engineering knowledge and practical skills in real-world situations. Students gained hands-on experience working alongside faculty members, specialists, and partner organizations while developing a sense of social responsibility, community engagement, and public service through the practical application of academic knowledge.
This collaboration highlights the Faculty of Engineering at KMUTT’s commitment to integrating engineering knowledge with academic services for society. It also strengthens cooperation among educational institutions and private-sector partners in alleviating the difficulties faced by flood-affected communities, improving household electrical safety, and supporting the recovery of residents’ quality of life.
