KMUTT has signed the Academic Agreement with over than 130 universities/ institutes abroad with the objective of promoting cooperation in the fields of education and academic research. The activities under the Agreement are such as collaborative research, lectures, symposiums, the exchange of information and materials, researchers as well as undergraduate and graduate students, etc.
The student exchange program is a unique opportunity to add to the studies in university. Students will experience different knowledge, life and culture. This will benefit students to have better professional life in the future.
As per the Memorandum of Understanding between KMUTT and partner universities/ institutes, exchange students are required to enroll for a minimum of one semester up to one academic year. In addition, they will not be required to pay for tuition fees while studying.
Nowadays, KMUTT welcomes a number of incoming student exchange students from our partner universities/ institutes while keep increasing our outgoing student exchange students to participate in the student exchange program.
The student exchange program is not just about study. Students will build integrative learning skills, multi-cultural competencies, practical knowledge, self-confidence and lifelong friendships with people in different countries.
BECOMING INBOUND EXCHANGE STUDENT
As you are reading this website, you must have already thought of studying at KMUTT as a part of your study program. Here at KMUTT, we have exchange students joining us every year, and now we invite you to step out of your known world to experience and enjoy the excitement of becoming an exchange student at KMUTT.
Choosing KMUTT as your study destination will not only assure you a strong academic scope through science and technology but also enable you to learn Thai as a foreign language. Moreover, you will have Thai buddies accompanying you throughout your stay here, to help you overcome culture shock. This will also help you to broaden your outlook and perspectives, gain self-confidence to become successful in life. Getting to stay with students from many countries, coming from different backgrounds will help you learn to become culturally more sensitive towards your co-worker, friends and others whom you will come across in future days to come. It will also teach you to become capable of living in an unfamiliar environment.

LENGTH OF STUDY
KMUTT outbound exchange students are required to enroll at our partner universities for a minimum of one semester up to one academic year.
TUITION AND FEES
Thanks to the agreement between KMUTT and partner universities, mostly exchange students will not be required to pay for tuition and fees while participating in the student exchange program. The personal expenses such as the transportation, meals, health insurance, life insurances and other are paid by the exchange students. However, some partner universities provide financial support upon request.
APPLICATION STEPS
STEP 1: Students fill in the application form
- Consult your advisor about course registration. This is to make sure that the credits taken at the partner institutions can be accepted and transferred back to KMUTT.
- Submit Outgoing Exchange Application Form, and upload other required documents.
STEP 2 Nomination
- After checking the applications and making sure that each applicant is eligible, the International Affairs Office will contact each student’s Faculty /School and make sure that they are approved by their Faculty /School.
*IA Office will not be able to let applicants join the program without their Faculty /School’s approval.
STEP 3: Interview
IA Office will select, interview, and nominate successful candidates to the partner institutions for their final consideration.
STEP 4: Announcement of Interview results
IA Office will notify the interview result to the successful applicants and their Faculty/School.
STEP 5: Pre-Departure Orientation
Once selected, successful candidates will attend a pre-departure orientation organized by the International Affairs Office. This orientation will provide essential information about the exchange program, the partner institution, cultural considerations, travel arrangements, and other relevant details to help students prepare for their time abroad.
STEP 6: Acceptance by Partner Institution
After the interview process, nominated candidates' applications will be sent to the partner institutions for their final approval. The partner institution will review the applications and make the final decision on whether to accept the students for the exchange program.
STEP 7: Course Registration at Partner Institution
Once accepted by the partner institution, students must work closely with both the host institution and their home institution to ensure that the selected courses align with their academic goals.
STEP 8: Visa and Travel Arrangements
Students will be provided with guidance on visa requirements for the host country. They will also receive guidelines for making travel arrangements, including information on accommodation options, transportation, and other logistical details.
STEP 9: Document Submission
As the departure date approaches, students must submit the required documents to the International Affairs Office. This ensures that all necessary paperwork is in order and facilitates a smooth departure for the exchange program.
STEP 10: Exchange Period
During the exchange period, students are expected to engage in academic activities, cultural experiences, and contribute positively to the international community at the host institution.
STEP 11: Post-Exchange Evaluation
Upon completion of the exchange program, students will be required to provide feedback and evaluation of their experience. This information is valuable for improving future exchange programs and supporting other students who may participate in similar opportunities.
STEP 12: Transcript and Recognition
After successfully completing the exchange program, students will receive transcripts from the partner institution, and they will proceed with the next step in the credit transfer process.
