On October 30, 2024, KMUTT welcomed esteemed representatives from the University of Craiova, Romania, marking the beginning of promising discussions to advance academic collaboration. The delegation was led by Professor Dr. Cezar Spînu, Rector of the University of Craiova, accompanied by Sorin Cazacu, Director of International Relations. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siam Charoenseang, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, hosted the delegation, extending a warm welcome on behalf of the university.
The visit follows an initial introduction between the two universities at the EAIE Conference in Toulouse in September this year, where they identified potential collaborations in Automation, Computer, Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering. During this meeting, both institutions reaffirmed their shared interests, discussing plans for joint academic programs and the possibility of applying for Erasmus funding. Such a partnership would pave the way for faculty and student exchanges, fostering deeper educational and research collaborations.
Following a fruitful discussion, the Craiova delegation visited KMUTT’s Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO), where they explored ongoing projects and state-of-the-art facilities dedicated to robotics and automation. This tour offered the delegation insights into KMUTT’s innovative approach to robotics education and research, further sparking interest in collaborative projects in the field.
This engagement marks a promising step toward fostering international partnerships and creating impactful projects that benefit students, faculty, and both universities.
