News of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan Visit, July 22, 2022.

On July 22, 2022, the delegation from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, leading by Professor Fong-Chin Su, Exective Vice President and Distinguished Professor of NCKU paid a visit to KMUTT in the purpose to strengthen the bond between both parties and discover new fields of academic and research collaboration. Professor Fong-Chin Su’ s visit was accompanied by Prof. Chih-Han Chang, Professor and Director of Medical Devises Innovation Center, Prof. Wen-Tai Chiu, Professor and Chair of Department of Biomedical Engineering and Ms. Kanjana Chaitika Assistant to Prof. Fong-Chin Su and Contact Window for Taiwan Center for Smart Healthcare Science and Technology in Thailand.   

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvit Saetia, KMUTT President, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornapit Darasawang, Vice President for Internationalisation, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hong-ming Ku, Assistant to the President for Internationalisation and Dr. Nongluk Plongthongkum, Lecturer from the Biological Engineering Program (BIE) Faculty of Engineering.

At the meeting, the current status and past collaborations between KMUTT and NCKU were discussed. The areas of collaboration include student research internships and being an active member in the Presidents’ Forum of Southeast Asia and Taiwan Universities (SATU). Moreover, the NCKU delegates were interested in the research of rehabilitation robots of the Department of Computer Engineering at KMUTT. The discussions were also about doing joint research and establishing a dual-degree program at the graduate level between the Department of Biomedical Engineering of NCKU and the Biological Engineering Program at KMUTT in the near future.
