Office of General Education, Faculty of Liberal Arts Workshop on Enhancing Educators’ Competency in Designing Constructive Alignment-based Instruction Using Generative Artificial Intelligence (GEN-AI) Under the Project for Producing New-generation Graduates and Competent Workforce in Response to the Industrial Sector Needs in Line with the 2025 Thai Higher Education Reform Policy (Certificate Program)

In response to current educational development policies emphasizing AI integration, educators now face the challenge of acquiring the knowledge and ability to design instructional processes that apply Generative Artificial Intelligence (GEN-AI) to support teaching, assessment, and the creation of effective learning environments. This led to the collaboration between the Office of General Education, whose personnel possess strong expertise and experience in Outcome-Based Education (OBE) design, and the Education Technology Service Unit (ETS), known for their proficiency in designing and developing Generative AI for educational purposes.

This collaboration resulted in a 3-day workshop titled “Enhancing Educators’ Competency in Designing Constructive Alignment-based Instruction Using Generative AI (GEN-AI)”, held on July 9, July 16, and August 1, 2025, from 09.00 – 16.00 at the GCDC Room, 1st Floor, Faculty of Liberal Arts, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT).

The workshop welcomed 40 participants from Wat Phutthabucha School and Rajaprajanugroh Ratchadaphisek Secondary School under the Royal Patronage.
This event is part of the first cohort of the Certificate Program under the project to develop new-generation graduates and a competent workforce aligned with Thailand’s 2025 higher education reform goals, running from June 23 to September 10, 2025.

Key learning outcomes upon completion of the course include the following five competencies:
1. AI Literacy: Teachers will understand the fundamentals, principles, and functioning of AI, and be able to evaluate its credibility and limitations.
2. AI Ethics and Values: Teachers will recognize ethical concerns, privacy, safety, and the social impacts of using AI in education.
3. AI Applications in Education: Teachers will be able to select and utilize appropriate AI tools for their teaching context and effectively integrate AI into their instruction.
4. Teaching and Learning with AI: Teachers will learn to design and implement AI-enhanced learning activities that meet learner needs and align with instructional goals.
5. AI Organization and Administration: Teachers will manage classroom and institutional use of AI efficiently, including data management, assessment, and professional development.
