The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau has partnered with KMUTT, NSTDA, and the private sector to launch the “Cyber Warrior Hackathon 2025” project, aiming to train a new generation of cyber warriors.

Under the policy of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, which emphasizes the urgent need to combat cybercrime, the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), led by Police Lieutenant General Trairong Phiwphan, has partnered with KMUTT and private sector organizations such as AIS, the Phra Rahu Foundation, and Security Pitch Co., Ltd. to launch the “Cyber Warrior Hackathon 2025.” The initiative aims to enhance the cybersecurity capabilities of Thai youth. The program will be held from June 6 to July 21, 2025, aiming to create a platform for programming competitions and to enhance cybersecurity skills among university students nationwide through three main activities: 1) Cyber Crime Talk, 2) Cyber Crime Workshops, and 3) Cyber Warrior Hackathon.

Participants will receive training in a Cybersecurity course along with a Non-Degree certificate jointly issued by KMUTT and CCIB. They will also gain the status of “Cyber Eyes,” becoming part of a volunteer network for cyber threat monitoring, and will be granted access to the “oneKMUTT” platform for lifelong learning. This year, over 520 students from 36 institutions nationwide have registered to compete, forming a total of 110 teams. They will vie for a combined prize pool of more than 260,000 baht, with awards as follows: 100,000 baht for the champion team, 50,000 baht for the first runner-up, 30,000 baht for the second runner-up, and seven consolation prizes of 10,000 baht each.

After the training, participants will present project proposals to compete for a spot in the final round of the Hackathon. The 10 finalist teams will showcase their projects on stage during Pitching Day, scheduled for July 21, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM at SCBX NEXT TECH, 4th floor, Siam Paragon. The event will also be open to the general public.
