The workshop on Strategic Roadmapping and Anchor Program Design for Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi) Policies was held on 22-23 January 2018 at the Knowledge Exchange (KX) Building, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Bangkok, Thailand. This Workshop was co-oganised by the Science Technology and Innovation Policy Institute (STIPI)/KMUTT in cooperation with the National Science, Technology and Innovation Office (STI).

Its main objectives were to incubate the innovation and accelerate industrial transformation along with strategic industries roadmapping and the strategic program design in Thailand. ECCi aims to focus on the pilot-plant scale R&D, to achieve a success through strategic mapping and eventually leading to industrial transformation at a wide seeks access Thailand.  The workshop responded to the initiative to create the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi), Recently, launched by the government as an integral part of the spatial economic Zone; Eastern Economic Corridor. The Thai government has recently launched an initiative to create the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi), an integral part of special economic zone; “Eastern Economic Corridors”.

This workshop was moderated by a special experts, Dr. Günter Clar, The Partner & Independent Advisor on STI policies, strategies and investments in Europe, MENA, LAC, US/CA and Asia. About 30 participants from STI and NSTDA attended this Workshop. EECi aims to achieve success through strategic mapping and eventually lead to industrial transformation at a wider scale across Thailand.
