Truffle Peeling Machine was presented in "Knon Thai Wanni"
On February 1, 2001, Ms. Thitipon Charoenyot, reporter of the Thai TV
channel 7, interviewed Assist. Prof. Dr. Surachet Chutima and his colleagues
about their truffle peeling machine, at Mechanical Engineering Department,
Engineering School, KMUTT. This interview would be presented in "Khon
Thai Wanni" program, Thai TV Channel 7.
The truffle peeling machine can peel 1,125 truffles per hour or about
125 kilograms per day (8 work- hours /day). The operation of the machine
is as follows. First, a truffle is placed on a feeder. Then, the feeder
pushes the truffle into the container of a conveyer to which a spring
holder is attached. After that, it is conveyed through cutters, which
cut its top and bottom respectively. It is then moved to the peeling spot
and is pushed into ring cutting blades, which can produce tube-shaped
peeled truffles in the same size.
