MecMat Fellows joined the 15 th National Convention on Civil Engineering 12-14 May, 2010
Dr. Chainarong and our research fellows attended the 15th National Convention on Civil Engineering (NCCE15). Four technical papers related in structural computational mechanics and materials; from Mr Tanin, Mr. Kitsanachai, Mr. Sadtawat, Dr. Boonme were presented at this conference. This NCCE15 was conducted at The Sunee Grand Hotel and Convension Center, Ubolratchatani and hosted by Department of Civil Engineering, Ubolrachathani University.

The 8th ISOPE Pacific/Asia Offshore Mechanics Symposium (ISOPE PACOMS-2008) is being organized by the ISOPE PACOMS-2008 Symposium Organizing Committee (SOC), and Local Organizing Committee (LOC). It will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, hosted by King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok, Thailand.
MecMat cordially welcomes visiting students from Mahidol Witthayanusorn School - 29 July 2004
Highschool students from Mahidol Witthayanusorn School of Science and Technology will make a visit at MecMat Center on 29 July 2004. After having a lecture about structural engineering research, they will be depicted all about the research facilities simultaneously with a real tour. There will be some simulations of real engineering practices in Thai construction industry. Also links of university and industry will be signified.

Fellows joined the 9th National Convention on Civil Engineering - 19-21 May 2004
Our research fellows attended the 9th National Convention on Civil Engineering (NCCE9). Five technical papers related in structural offshore engineering, Fibre reinforced materials, and computational mechanics; those, from Mr Suradej, Mr Sakdirat, Mr Arun, Mr Chaiyanan, and Mr Tavee, were presented at this conference. One of those about 3D Cables in Cylindrical Coordinates was an invited paper. This NCCE9 was conducted at The Regent Ca-Um, Ca-Um, and hosted by Department of Civil Engineering, Thummasart University.

Prof Somchai appointed
the Earthquake Committee - 2004
As
an expert in structural dynamics, the department of public works
and town & country planning appoints Prof Somchai a member
in the National Earthquake Design Code Comittee. This committee
is responsible for enacting the seismic resisting design provision
in part of the Building Control Act of Thailand. For more detail

The 4th National HSC Competition
- 28-29 August 2003
Material
Group, MecMat, hosted the 4th annual national high strength concrete
competition between 28-29 August. In this year, the high strength
early age concrete has been strived university CE students in Thailand.
Students must study and practice their technique to compete each
other on the stage. There was many teams come from every part of
Thailand joining this activity. We found that Sinakarin Wirote Uni
Delegate won the high strength prize and KMUTT delegate won the
high strength prediction prize, see

Special
Meeting at Sun Set Beach, Patthaya - July 2003
A
special meeting was held on 12-14 July 2003 outside MecMat
Center. The meeting venue was the Tawanron Beach
Resort & Spa, Patthaya, Chonburi. Oral progressive
reports from over twenty research associates and students had been
conducted on July, 13 along with nutural treatments. This
special meeting was supported by our senior fellows: Prof Somchai,
Ms.Suchada, and Dr.Julapot for providing more relaxation to MecMat

MecMat extends a warm welcome to imcoming graduate research assistants
in this year. They are now being in Ph.D. and M.Eng. programs in
Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering), KMUTT for which are:
Ms.Sudathip (Ph.D.); from 2nd yr students: Mr.Surat, Mr.Somchai,
Mr.Narupol, and Mr.Tawee; from 1st yr students: Mr.Chanachai, Mr.Jetsadapong,
Mr.Jirapol, Mr.Suntorn, and Mr.Teerawat. They are now being trained
for a short course in FEM and then will be experienced in Modern
Research-Oriented Computational Programming session.
RGJ Seminar Series 2003 : Civil Engineering

Chulalongkorn
University hosted the 2nd RGJ Seminar Series in Civil Engineering
this year. Our fellows gathering of Prof Somchai and Ph.D. candidates:
Mr Boonme, Mr Chainarong, and Mr Tawich; had joined this seminar.
There were the oral presentations and poster sessions of Ph.D. students
(CE) from all universities around Thailand. Anyway, It is so proud
that MecMat foundingly hosted the first RGJ Seminar Series: Civil
Engineering in 2001.

Our
fellows graduate their M.Eng. in Structural Engineering this year.
All of them has been working at MecMat Center, KMUTT. Those alumni,
Mr Boonchai, Mr Parinya, Mr Suwit, and recently Mr Sakdirat will
continue their careers in the engineering profession. Mr Boonchai
is promoted to be a lecturer at RIT-Klong 6, Mr Parinya and Mr Suwit
are liaised with the construction industry, and Mr Sakdirat continues
his civil engineering work in the Ministry of Interior.
