TCI and ACI databases are jointly initiating a pilot project with Scopus to improve the quality of academic journals indexed in the ACI database for possible inclusion in Scopus within minimum timeframe. The target of the project is to include 20 top quality Thai and ASEAN journals that are currently indexed in ACI database in the Scopus database by the end of this year (2017) and another 20 journals at the end of 2019 via a series of trainings and editor workshops.
In this regard, the TCI/ACI had organized the first meeting on March 14, 2017 to inform potential Editors about the project, the development plan and the preparation processes.
The 2nd Editor’s Workshop for potential editors was on April 28, 2017 at the Windsor Suites Hotel, Sukumvit Rd., Bangkok to discuss on how to develop Thai journals up to the Scopus standards.
The 3rd Editor’s workshop was on July 3rd, 2017 at the Windsor Suites Hotel, Sukumvit Rd., Bangkok. The target group was Editors of 55 high potential Thai journals for Scopus inclusion and Thai local Board. The session focused on the Scopus journal selection criteria used by the CSAB. There were 128 participants attended the workshop.
The 4th Editor’s workshop for the Editors of the 55 Journals was on November 10th, 2017 at the Century Park Hotel. The objective of the workshop was to inform the Editors about the Steps, processes, preparations and lesson learned for journal submission into Scopus. The live journal submission into Scopus was highlighted.
