TRF met Elsevier as part of the Scopus-Thailand University Consortium and the Thai and ASEAN journals for indexing in Scopus

According to the collaborative project between Thai-Journal Citation Index (TCI) Centre, the Thailand Research Fund (TRF) and Scopus on enhancing Thai research performances and visibility via a pilot project, Scopus-Thailand University Consortium and the Thai and ASEAN journals for indexing in Scopus, Elsevier has had commitment to provide more information on the related products, e.g. Mendeley and Scopus metrics, to the TRF, TCI and the 35 universities in the Consortium.

On April 25, 2017, 5 Elsevier representatives were at the Thailand Research Fund (TRF) presenting the Mendeley and research Metrics to Prof. Dr. Sompong Klaynongsurang, Director for Academic Research Division, Prof. Dr. Narongrit Sombatsompop, TCI team and TRF team on how TRF could use Mandeley for their research management. There were 16 participants attended the meeting. Mr. Woon Qingyong, Market Development Manager, Asia Pacific, Mendeley presented on “Getting More out of Scopus subscription with Mendeley”, followed by “Research Metrics” by Mr. Alexander van Servellen, Solution Consultant, South East Asia Research Management, Science & Technology.

There were a lot of questions posted by Prof. Dr. Narongrit Sombatsompop and discussion issues on how to make better use of the Mendeley within the current work of TRF and also how Mendeley can benefit individual researchers. Suggestions and advices were made to the speakers so that they could amend their presentations to suit the target group.
